Effect of Microstructure on Damage Tolerance

Abstract: This paper studies the relationship between microstructures and damage-tolerance  properties of TA15 titanium alloy. The results show that the microstructures have great effection on damage-tolerance properties of TA15 titanium alloy:undeformed Widmanstatten,deformation Widmanstatten and Net structure have high fracture toughness and low fatigue crack-extending rate, while still maintain the performance of high plastic and good damage-tolerance。
